All The Fancy Things Kim Jong-un Has – While His People Are Starving
Satellite images have exposed a lifestyle so extravagantly insulated from reality that it almost feels like fiction. While an estimated 40% of North Koreans suffer from chronic malnutrition, their leader has been quietly assembling a personal fortune of yachts, palaces, and imported luxury goods that would make a billionaire blush. From a £75 million floating palace with waterslides to a watch collection worth more than most people earn in a lifetime, here is everything Kim Jong-un has—while his people starve.
The £75 Million Party Boat (With Four Waterslides)

The centrepiece of Kim’s summer fleet is an 80-metre luxury yacht spotted repeatedly off the coast of Wonsan between July and October 2026. Its upper deck features a 50-metre swimming pool with four turquoise waterslides at one end. Satellite imagery tracked the vessel moving from a maintenance yard to the Kalma Peninsula, within easy reach of a beachside villa used by Kim and his inner circle. Experts estimate comparable floating palaces cost anywhere from tens of millions to over $100 million. Former North Korean official Ri Jong Ho, who served in the regime’s clandestine slush-fund Office 39, put it bluntly: “Kim Jong Un is supposed to be a ‘leader of the people’, yet he has four luxury vessels like these while ordinary people are struggling just to get one meal a day”.
