Chewy the Raccoon — The Meth Pipe Rodent

Victoria Vidal was pulled over in Springfield Township, Ohio, for driving with a suspended licence. When officers approached the vehicle, they found something they’d never seen before: a pet raccoon named Chewy sitting in the driver’s seat with a glass meth pipe in his mouth. When officers took the pipe away, Chewy pulled out another one. A search of the vehicle uncovered seven bags of crystal meth and crack cocaine. Vidal was arrested on multiple drug charges. A police officer later said: “As fun as it is seeing a raccoon holding a meth pipe, it is very sad to see someone in that condition with that addiction.” Chewy was taken into the care of a family member. He appeared unharmed—and, according to officers, “extremely playful”.
